The Foursquare Shibboleth 16 Years Old is an exclusive and specially matured bottling from the internationally renowned Exceptional Cask Selection of the Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. As a single blended rum, it combines both pot still and column still distillates - typical of Foursquare - and thus stands for the characteristic balance of strength, structure and elegance for which Master Distiller Richard Seale is valued worldwide.
This edition was distilled in 2005 and matured for 16 years entirely in a tropical climate in ex-bourbon barrels made from American white oak. The long barrel ageing gives the rum a particularly dense, complex aroma with a clear wood influence and spicy depth. The Shibboleth was bottled at cask strength at 56% vol., naturally without sugar, colorants or additives - a true quality feature of the Foursquare philosophy.
