Der Kerschbaum Opera 2021 ist eine charakterstarke Rotweincuvée aus dem Mittelburgenland, die mit Tiefe, Struktur und beeindruckender Eleganz überzeugt. Das traditionsreiche Familienweingut Kerschbaum zählt seit Jahren zu den Top-Adressen für hochwertige Rotweine in Österreich – mit dem Opera präsentiert es eine Cuvée, die Ausdruck und Harmonie meisterhaft vereint.
Die Komposition besteht aus 60 % Blaufränkisch und 40 % Merlot – eine Verbindung, bei der der Blaufränkisch mit seiner Würze, Struktur und Frische den Ton angibt, während der Merlot dem Wein dunkle Frucht, Fülle und weiche Konturen verleiht. Die sorgfältig von Hand gelesenen Trauben wurden schonend über 21 Tage spontan auf der Maische vergoren, was dem Wein Dichte und Tiefe verleiht. Anschließend reifte er für 18 Monate in neuen 500-Liter-Eichenfässern, wodurch er zusätzlich an Komplexität und Lagerpotenzial gewinnt. Tasting notes:
Im Glas zeigt sich der Opera 2021 in einem dichten, dunklen Rubingranat mit violetten Reflexen. In der Nase offenbart sich ein fein abgestimmtes Aromenspiel von dunklen Beeren, Herzkirschen, feiner Würze, etwas Zedernholz und einem Hauch Schokolade. Am Gaumen ist der Wein dicht, kraftvoll und dennoch ausgewogen, mit samtigen Tanninen, eleganter Frucht und einer gut integrierten Holznote. Der Abgang ist lang, seidig und getragen von reifer Frucht und würzigen Nuancen.

Der Kerschbaum Opera ist ein vielseitiger Speisebegleiter, der hervorragend zu Terrinen, saftigen Fleischgerichten vom Schwein und Kalb, aber auch zu Risotto mit Pilzen oder kräftigen Käsesorten passt. Serviert bei 16 °C zeigt sich der Wein von seiner besten Seite – ein kraftvoller, finessenreicher Rotwein mit Tiefe und Charakter, der sowohl pur als auch zu gehobener Küche großen Genuss bietet.
