Als Aushängeschild des renommierten Hauses Masi Agricola vereint dieser Amarone Herkunft, Handwerk und Eleganz auf höchstem Niveau. Der Begriff "Costasera" verweist auf die westlich ausgerichteten Hänge der klassischen Valpolicella-Zone, wo die Reben von besonders viel Abendsonne profitieren. Dies verlängert die Reifezeit und sorgt für besonders ausgewogene und tiefgründige Trauben.
Die Cuvée aus Corvina, Rondinella und Molinara wird nach dem klassischen Appassimento-Verfahren vinifiziert: Die sorgfältig ausgewählten Trauben werden nach der Lese mehrere Monate auf Strohmatten getrocknet. Dabei verlieren sie Wasser, gewinnen an Zucker und Aromenintensität. Nach der Gärung folgt ein langer Ausbau in Fässern aus slawonischer und französischer Eiche, was dem Wein zusätzlich Struktur, Komplexität und feine Würze verleiht. Der Jahrgang 2020 zeigt sich besonders kraftvoll und harmonisch mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 15 % Vol. – ein echter Amarone mit Tiefgang und großem Reifepotenzial. Tasting notes:
Im Glas leuchtet der Costasera Amarone in einem dichten, funkelnden Rubin mit granatroten Reflexen. In der Nase entfaltet sich ein vielschichtiges Bouquet von dunklen Kirschen, getrockneten Pflaumen, Datteln und Rosinen, ergänzt durch Gewürznelken, Zedernholz, Kakao und feine balsamische Anklänge. Am Gaumen zeigt er sich vollmundig, samtig und kraftvoll, mit dichter Frucht, reifen Tanninen und perfekter Balance zwischen Extraktsüße, Frische und Alkohol. Der Abgang ist lang, weich und vielschichtig mit einem Hauch Bitterschokolade und Tabak.
Ideal zu geschmortem Wild, gereiftem Käse, Trüffelgerichten oder kräftigen Rindfleischvariationen. Auch solo als Meditiationswein ein Hochgenuss – besonders nach dem Dekantieren. Die empfohlene Serviertemperatur liegt bei 17–18 °C.
