Die La Gauloise Liqueur Bicentenaire Jaune ist ein traditionsreicher französischer Kräuterlikör mit über 200-jähriger Geschichte, hergestellt von der Distillerie du Centre in Limoges, Frankreich. Diese gelbe Variante basiert auf einer Originalrezeptur aus dem Jahr 1783, die auf über 30 sorgfältig ausgewählten Kräutern, Wurzeln und Gewürzen beruht. Das Rezept geht auf den Apotheker Édouard Requier zurück, der ein alchemistisches Pflanzenbuch – ein sogenanntes "Grimoire" – als Grundlage für diese komplexe Komposition nutzte. Bis heute wird der Likör nach traditionellem Verfahren mazeriert, destilliert und handwerklich verarbeitet.
Mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 40 % Vol. präsentiert sich La Gauloise Jaune weicher und süßer als die grüne Variante "Verte", bleibt dabei aber voll aromatisch und komplex. Die natürliche Farbe, der kräuterintensive Charakter und die leicht honigartige Süße machen diesen Likör zu einem Klassiker französischer Spirituosenkunst. Über Generationen hinweg wurde La Gauloise mehrfach prämiert – unter anderem mit der Goldmedaille bei der Weltausstellung 1889 sowie der Ehrenmedaille von 1900. Tasting notes:
Farbe: Leuchtendes, klares Gelb.
Nase: Sanfte Kräuter, Anis, Honig, feine Zitrusnoten, florale Nuancen.
Geschmack: Rund und ausgewogen mit süßlichen Kräutern, mildem Anis, Gewürzen und leichter Bitterkeit.
Abgang: Angenehm lang, warm und harmonisch mit kräuterwürzigem Nachhall.
Klassisch pur oder auf Eis als Digestif servieren. Auch mit etwas kaltem Wasser oder Soda eine aromatische Alternative zu Aperitifs. Besonders geeignet zum Mixen französischer Kräuterlikör-Cocktails oder als Verfeinerung für Desserts und Saucen.
