Die La Gauloise Liqueur Bicentenaire Verte ist ein traditionsreicher, grüner Kräuterlikör aus Frankreich mit einem Alkoholgehalt von kräftigen 48 % Vol. Hergestellt wird die Spirituose von der Distillerie du Centre in Limoges, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, nach einer historischen Rezeptur aus dem Jahr 1783. Diese Rezeptur basiert auf einem alten "Grimoire" – einem alchemistischen Pflanzenbuch –, das vom Apotheker Édouard Requier wiederentdeckt wurde. Bis heute wird der Likör aus einer geheimen Mischung aus über 30 Kräutern, Wurzeln und Gewürzen produziert und in aufwendiger Handarbeit destilliert.
Die "Verte" (grüne) Variante ist kräftiger, aromatischer und herber als die gelbe Version "Jaune" und verkörpert damit den klassischen französischen Kräuterlikör-Stil in seiner vollmundigen Form. Sie wurde über die Jahrhunderte vielfach prämiert, unter anderem mit der Goldmedaille auf der Weltausstellung 1889 und der Ehrenmedaille der Weltausstellung 1900 in Paris. Mit ihrer auffälligen, natürlichen Farbe und dem intensiven Kräuterprofil gehört La Gauloise Verte zu den historisch bedeutendsten Spirituosen ihrer Art. Tasting notes:
Farbe: Leuchtendes, tiefes Grün.
Nase: Intensive Kräutermischung, Menthol, Anis, Kiefernharz, subtile Süße.
Geschmack: Komplex und vollmundig mit kräftigen Kräuternoten, feiner Bitterkeit, Würze und balsamischen Nuancen.
Abgang: Lang anhaltend, wärmend und herb-würzig mit anhaltendem Pflanzencharakter.
Traditionell pur oder auf Eis als Digestif servieren. Auch mit einem Schuss eiskaltem Wasser trinkbar – ähnlich wie Absinth oder Chartreuse. Ideal zur Verfeinerung von Kräuter-Cocktails oder in der Patisserie zur Aromatisierung von Desserts. Aufgrund ihres kräftigen Profils eignet sich La Gauloise Verte vor allem für Kenner traditioneller Kräuterliköre und Sammler französischer Spirituosenkultur.
