Das Weingut Baron Philippe de Rothschild, mit Sitz in Pauillac, zählt zu den renommiertesten Weinhäusern Frankreichs und ist weltweit für seine erstklassigen Bordeaux-Weine bekannt. Das Weingut revolutionierte den Weinbau, indem es die Abfüllung auf dem Weingut einführte und 1973 die Hochstufung von Château Mouton Rothschild in die höchste Bordeaux-Klassifikation erreichte. Zum Portfolio gehören zudem die international bekannte Marke Mouton Cadet sowie die Weingüter Château Clerc Milon und Château d’Armailhac.
Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet Réserve Médoc ist ein beeindruckender Rotwein aus einer der prestigeträchtigsten Appellationen des Bordeaux – dem Médoc. Die Cuvée besteht aus 58 % Merlot und 42 % Cabernet Sauvignon, eine klassische Bordeaux-Mischung, die Kraft, Frucht und Struktur perfekt vereint. Während der Merlot für eine weiche, samtige Frucht und Fülle sorgt, bringt der Cabernet Sauvignon feine Tannine, Tiefe und eine beeindruckende Lagerfähigkeit mit sich. Die Reben gedeihen auf einem Terroir aus Sand, Flusskies und Lehm, das den Trauben eine optimale Reife und eine feine Mineralität verleiht. Nach der Lese erfolgt eine temperaturkontrollierte Gärung in Edelstahltanks, gefolgt von einer sorgfältigen Reifung in französischen Eichenfässern.
Der Wein wird schließlich mit einem Naturkorken verschlossen, um seine Qualität und Reifefähigkeit bestmöglich zu bewahren.

Tiefes Granatrot mit schimmernden rubinroten Reflexen im Glas. In der Nase intensive Aromen von schwarzen Johannisbeeren, reifen Pflaumen und Kirschen, begleitet von würzigen Noten von Zedernholz, Vanille und geröstetem Kaffee. Am Gaumen fruchtig mit Nuancen von dunkler Schokolade sowie Gewürzen. Eine feine Tanninstruktur und eine gut eingebundene Säure runden den Geschmack ab. Lang anhaltend im Abgang.

Dieser Rotwein ist ein perfekter Begleiter zu gegrilltem oder geschmortem Fleisch, insbesondere Rindersteak, Lammkarree oder Entenbrust mit einer dunklen Sauce. Er harmoniert hervorragend mit gereiften Käsesorten wie Comté oder Bleu d’Auvergne und ist auch eine exzellente Wahl für ein festliches Menü.
