Der Isle of Raasay The Draam Hebridean Single Malt Whisky stammt von der jungen und preisgekrönten Isle of Raasay Distillery auf der gleichnamigen Hebrideninsel vor der Küste der Isle of Skye. Dieser legendäre Single Malt wurde erstmals 2021 vorgestellt und basiert auf der einzigartigen Sechs-Fass-Rezeptur von Brennmeister Alasdair Day. Mit seiner honiggoldenen Farbe und den feinen Nuancen von Rotweintönen bietet er eine bemerkenswerte Geschmackstiefe, die über sein Alter hinausgeht.
Der Draam orientiert sich an einem älteren Stil von Hebriden-Single-Malt-Whisky, besitzt jedoch eine leichtere, duftende Rauchigkeit, die von intensiven dunklen Fruchtaromen elegant ausbalanciert wird. Grundlage bildet eine ausgefeilte Rezeptur, bei der zwei verschiedene Spirituosen – getorft und ungetorft – separat in amerikanischen Rye-Whiskeyfässern, frischen Chinkapin-Eichenfässern sowie erstbefüllten Bordeaux-Rotweinfässern reifen. Abgefüllt wird mit 46,4% Vol., in natürlicher Farbe und ohne Kühlfiltrierung. Tasting notes:
Farbe: Honiggold mit zarten Rotweintönen.
Nase: Leichte Rauchnoten, frische Früchte, dunkle Beeren und ein Hauch Vanille.
Geschmack: Harmonisch und rund mit Noten von Toffee, Rotweinfrüchten, süßem Malz und subtiler Torfigkeit.
Abgang: Lang anhaltend, duftig rauchig, fruchtig und ausgewogen.
Der Isle of Raasay The Draam Hebridean Single Malt entfaltet sein volles Aromenspiel pur bei Zimmertemperatur. Er passt zu mildem Weichkäse wie Brie oder Camembert, zu gegrilltem Lachs oder Jakobsmuscheln sowie zu Desserts wie Apfelkuchen oder Crème Brûlée. Darüber hinaus eignet er sich auch als Basis für Whisky-Cocktails – etwa in einem Old Fashioned, wo seine leichte Rauchigkeit für Tiefe sorgt, oder in einem Whisky Sour, der seine fruchtigen Noten unterstreicht.
