Description

The Netzl Zweigelt Rubin Carnuntum DAC 2022 is a classic, elegant red wine from organic cultivation that perfectly showcases the characteristics of the Zweigelt grape. With its dark ruby garnet and inviting cherry fruit, it combines youthful charm, subtle spicy notes and a harmonious balance of freshness and structure. This organic Zweigelt from Carnuntum comes from the Ried Riedencuvée vineyard, on deep, nutrient-rich loess soils that lend the grapes minerality and finesse.

The special mesoclimate of the Carnuntum region benefits from the influence of Lake Neusiedl and the nearby Danube. Warm late summer and autumn days ensure optimal physiological ripeness of the blue grapes, while cool night winds provide freshness and elegance. The grapes were selectively harvested by hand in large crates on September 20 and 21, 2021 and selected using gentle vibration tables so that only 100% healthy and ripe berries were processed.

Temperature-controlled fermentation took place at 28 °C in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruit while making the most of color, aroma and tannins. After a two-week maceration, the wine matured for 18 months in large oak barrels, developing its velvety, elegant character and harmonious structure. At 13.5% vol., the Netzl Zweigelt Rubin 2022 is dry, juicy and full-bodied. The wine is suitable for vegans and has a drinking maturity potential from 2023 to 2028. The Zweigelt Rubin Carnuntum 2022 is an excellent accompaniment to olives, charcuterie, terrines and cold meat dishes. It also harmonizes with classic meat dishes such as pork, veal or chicken, Mediterranean dishes, fish dishes and cheese with a subtle taste. Served at 16-18 °C in a Chianti or Bordeaux glass, it reveals its full aromatic depth and youthful elegance. Ideal for convivial evenings, fine dining or as a stylish wine to enjoy.
