The Bràulio Riserva Speciale Amaro Bitter 2019 with 24.7% vol. in a 0.7-litre bottle is a strictly limited special bottling of a traditional Alpine amaro whose origins date back to the 19th century. Bràulio was developed by Francesco Peloni in the region around Bormio, where the family cellars are still located today. These historic vaults are made up of medieval tunnels and are the special maturing place for this distinctive Italian bitter liqueur.
The production of Bràulio Riserva is based on uncompromising quality standards. Only whole botanicals are used, which are crushed directly on site. Extracts or ground powders are not used. The botanicals are macerated in alcohol and then blended with water, sugar and caramelized sugar to achieve depth, balance and natural colouring. In contrast to the classic Bràulio, which matures for at least 15 months in barrels of different sizes, the Bràulio Riserva is matured exclusively in small Slavonian oak barriques for at least 24 months at a higher alcohol content.
