Spot Whiskeys are a series of single pot still Irish whiskeys that look back on a history of over 135 years. Originally developed by the Mitchell family in Dublin, casks were marked with color dots depending on their maturation time - thus Green Spot, Yellow Spot, Red Spot and Blue Spot were created. Today, these whiskeys are produced in the Midleton Distillery in County Cork and stand for the highest quality and authentic taste.
The roots of the Spot whiskeys lie in Dublin, Ireland. The Mitchell & Son family began whiskey bonding in the 19th century and played a key role in shaping Irish whiskey culture. Today, the whiskeys are produced at the renowned Midleton Distillery, which is known for its excellent single pot still whiskeys.
Spot whiskeys are made from a blend of malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled in traditional copper pot stills. Maturation takes place in various types of cask, including Bourbon, Sherry, Malaga, Marsala and Madeira casks, giving each whiskey its unique character.
