Mari Mayans is the oldest and best-known brand of Hierbas Ibicencas. Since 1880, the Mayans family on Ibiza has been producing its characteristic herbal liqueur - with more than 18 different herbs that come directly from the wild nature of the Balearic island.
Produced in the distillery in Ibiza Town, Mari Mayans makes use of the island's diverse Mediterranean flora. Herbs such as rosemary, thyme, mint, fennel and lemon verbena grow wild in the surrounding area and characterize the intense aroma of the liqueur.
The production process is a combination of maceration and distillation. The herbs are processed individually, soaked in alcohol and later combined to create the characteristic liqueur. Maturation takes place over several months to achieve depth and balance - without artificial additives.
The bottles feature the iconic herb woman as a symbol of the brand. The Hierbas Ibicencas con Rama variant is particularly well-known, with a real sprig of herb in the bottle - a sign of authentic craftsmanship.
