Mit dem The Arran DUERO DISCOVERY präsentiert die Destillerie aus Lochranza auf der Isle of Arran die dritte Edition ihrer exklusiven Signature Series. Dieser 12 Jahre alte Single Malt Scotch Whisky überzeugt mit Tiefe, Individualität und einer fassgeprägten Aromatik. Abgefüllt als Batch No. 18-RDD-01-48, stammt er aus dem Warehouse #4 direkt in Lochranza, wo er unter idealen Bedingungen reifen konnte. Die Abfüllung erfolgte im Frühling 2025 – selbstverständlich ohne Kühlfiltrierung und ohne Zusatz von Farbstoffen, um die natürliche Reinheit und Struktur dieses Whiskys zu bewahren.
Die Reifung erfolgte zunächst in Bourbon Barrels, gefolgt von einer Veredelung in first-fill spanischen Rotweinfässern, was dem Whisky seine fruchtige Tiefe und elegante Würze verleiht. Mit 50 % Vol. präsentiert sich der DUERO DISCOVERY kraftvoll und zugleich ausgewogen. Die Edition ist auf 15.049 Flaschen weltweit limitiert und wird in einem hochwertigen Leinensackerl geliefert – ein charakterstarkes Sammlerstück für Kenner und Liebhaber fassstarker, authentischer Inselwhiskys. Tasting notes:
Farbe: Kupferfarben mit rotgoldenen Reflexen.
Nase: Reife rote Beeren, dunkle Kirschen, süßes Eichenholz und ein Hauch spanischer Weinaromatik.
Geschmack: Vollmundig und ausgewogen mit Noten von dunkler Frucht, Honig, Vanille, Gewürzen und einem seidigen Tannin-Griff vom Rotweinfass.
Abgang: Lang anhaltend, fruchtig-würzig und strukturiert mit anhaltender Wärme und feiner Eichennote.
Der Arran DUERO DISCOVERY Single Malt entfaltet seine Aromatik ideal pur oder mit wenigen Tropfen Wasser, um die Struktur der Weinfassreifung vollständig zur Geltung zu bringen. Als eleganter Dram eignet er sich hervorragend zu stillen Momenten oder besonderen Anlässen. Passend zu kräftigem Hartkäse, Wildgerichten mit Rotwein-Jus oder dunkler Schokolade mit roten Früchten lässt sich seine aromatische Tiefe kulinarisch ideal begleiten.
