Dieser hochwertige Single Malt Scotch Whisky stammt aus der kleinen, unabhängigen Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso, gelegen an der windgepeitschten Nordküste der Northern Highlands.
Für die Reifung wurde dieser Single Malt zu gleichen Teilen in ex-Bourbon Casks und second-fill Oloroso Sherry Butts ausgebaut – beide Fässer sorgfältig ausgewählt, um ein perfektes Gleichgewicht zwischen Frucht, Würze, Süße und dezenter Rauchigkeit zu erzeugen. Ganze zwölf Jahre lagerte der Whisky in den traditionellen Dunnage Warehouses, wodurch er eine besonders tiefe, vielschichtige Aromatik und ein samtweiches Mundgefühl entwickelte.
Mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 46 % Vol., nicht kühlfiltriert und in natürlicher Farbe abgefüllt, überzeugt der Wolfburn 12 Jahre durch handwerkliche Authentizität und ehrlichen Highland-Charakter. Tasting notes:
Farbe: Helles Bernstein.
Nase: Süß und floral mit Aromen von Honig, Vanille, Heublume und einem Hauch Torfrauch – sehr harmonisch und einladend.
Geschmack: Vollmundig und vielschichtig. Honig und kandierter Zucker treffen auf eine dezente Sherry-Süße, weiche Gewürznoten und einen Hauch Trockenobst.
Abgang: Lang, warm und ausgewogen mit Noten von Karamell, Datteln und feinen Eichentönen.
Der Wolfburn 12 Years Old eignet sich hervorragend für den Genuss pur, am besten bei Zimmertemperatur oder mit einem Tropfen Wasser zur Entfaltung der Tiefe.
