Edradour bottles its particularly heavily peated whiskies under the name Ballechin, which are characterized by their intense smokiness and powerful character.
This single malt was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021 after 12 years of maturation. It was matured entirely in first oloroso sherry casks, which gave it a deep, fruity sweetness, dark spice and a complex variety of aromas. It is bottled at cask strength at 55.4% vol., naturally without chill-filtration and without colorants to preserve its authenticity and natural intensity.
