Aeijst Styrian Pale Gin - organic gin from Styria
The name "Aeijst" (pronounced: "Ähst") comes from the Styrian dialect and means "branches" - a symbol of the natural ingredients and the roots in the region. This London Dry Gin is produced in the Thomann family distillery in St. Nikolai im Sausal, a picturesque municipality in southern Styria.
Region & origin
The distillery is located in a former winegrower's house in St. Nikolai im Sausal. Here, the Thomann family combines traditional distilling skills with modern craftsmanship and regional ties.
Production & craftsmanship
Aeijst is made from 100% organic ingredients. Nine carefully selected botanicals, including juniper, coriander, lavender, ginger and lemon peel, are individually tasted and combined to create a harmonious recipe. Maceration takes place directly in pure wheat alcohol, followed by distillation in a 400-liter copper still. The gin then rests for at least four weeks in stainless steel tanks to harmonize its aromas.
Variety & highlights
- Aeijst Gin: The classic London Dry Gin with a clear, purist note.
- Umbra: A creative reinterpretation with intense, fruity and spicy aromas.
- Peat: A unique gin with juniper berries smoked over Styrian peat, giving it a smoky depth.
Conclusion
Aeijst Gin stands for Styrian craftsmanship, organic ingredients and authentic taste. Ideal for connoisseurs who value quality and regionality - now available at delicando.
