Kensei is an innovative Japanese blended whisky from the Kiyokawa distillery, the first farm-to-bottle distillery in Japan. Founded in the mountainous region of Nagano/Iiyama, it uses pure spring water, locally grown grain and small-batch production for authentic craft character.
The distillery is located at the foot of the Japanese Alps in Nagano, where cold winters and warm summers provide ideal maturing conditions. Local grains and pure mountain spring water characterize the typical Kensei character.
Kensei is a carefully composed blend in which individual whiskies are matured in small oak casks. The blend is characterized by slow distillation, non-cold-filtered and small batches.
