Herkunft – von Barbados bis Fidschi

Planteray ist keine einzelne Destillerie, sondern eine Auswahl. Alexandre Gabriel arbeitet mit Partnerdestillerien in Barbados, Jamaika, Trinidad, Guyana, Panama, Peru, Guatemala, Fidschi, Mauritius und weiteren Ursprüngen – regelmäßig kommen neue Terroirs hinzu. Jedes bringt seinen eigenen Stil mit: trockene Eleganz, kraftvolle Pot-Still-Aromatik, tropische Frucht.

Doppelte Reifung – Tropen treffen Cognac

Zunächst reifen die Rums in ihrem Ursprungsland in Ex-Bourbon-Fässern. Das tropische Klima beschleunigt die Reifung und sorgt für intensive Fruchtaromen. Danach folgt die zweite Etappe: In den Kellern des Château de Bonbonnet bei Cognac lagern sie in gebrauchten Ferrand-Fässern weiter. Das kühle, feuchte Klima der Charente schenkt ihnen Struktur, Tiefe und feine Würze.

Alexandre Gabriel übernahm 1989 die Verantwortung für Maison Ferrand. Was er im Cognac gelernt hat – Geduld, Fasskunst, Präzision beim Assemblieren – wendet er seit Jahrzehnten auf Rum an. Er experimentiert mit Fasstypen, Toastungsgraden und Finishes, ohne den Charakter des Ursprungs zu überdecken. Fassarbeit als Verfeinerung, nicht als Maskierung.

Die Bar Classics – 3 Stars, Original Dark, O.F.T.D. und Stiggins’ Fancy Pineapple – sind für den Cocktail gemacht und in der internationalen Barszene zu Hause.
