The Slyrs single malt whisky comes from the Upper Bavarian distillery at Schliersee. The name "Slyrs" is a pseudo-Gaelic corruption of "Schliersee".
The distillery was founded in 1999 by Florian Stettner and is located directly on the shores of Schliersee.
After traditional storage, the whiskey matures for at least another 9 months in specially selected beer barrels that previously held IPA beers with intense hoppy flavors.
