Im Jahr 1263 rettete das Oberhaupt des Clans Mackenzie den König Alexander III vor einem angreifenden Hirsch. Als Anerkennung dafür gewährte der König dem Mackenzie-Clan das Recht, das Emblem des zwölfzackigen königlichen Hirsches in seinem Wappen zu führen. Durch die Übernahme der Dalmore Brennerei durch die Nachkommen des Clans im Jahr 1867 wurde dieser königliche Hirsch zu dem Symbol der Dalmore Whisky, welcher heute stolz jede Flasche ziert. Die kostbaren Single Malt werden in außergewöhnlichen Fässern verfeinert, welche von Master Distiller Richard Paterson handverlesen wurden.
Die Destillerie Dalmore wurde im Jahr 1839 gegründet und liegt an der Küste Cromarty Firth in den nördlichen Highlands. Dalmore verwendet das Wasser aus dem Fluss Alness, der durch die gleichnamige Kleinstadt fließt.
Der 12-jährige Dalmore wurde in Bourbon und Oloroso Sherry Fässern gereift. Ein sehr komplexer Single Malt mit wundervoll kombinierten Aromen und einem ausgezeichneten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Tasting notes:
Farbe: Bernstein.
Nase: Kräftig, fruchtig, aromatisch, würzig, Zitrusfrüchten, Schokolade.
Geschmack: Üppig, malzig, süß, Gewürze, Orangen, dunkle Schokolade, Vanilleschoten.
Abgang: Lang anhaltend.
