The Bolla winery was founded in 1883. It was taken over by Gruppo Italiano Vini in 2006. However, the wine is still produced under the family name Bolla.
The Bolla Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a red wine made from the Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone grape varieties. The vineyards in which these grapes thrive are located on soils consisting of a mixture of marl and slate. After harvesting, the grapes are dried for around four months to increase the sugar concentration. The dried grapes are then pressed, followed by a 20-day maceration to extract color, aromas and tannins. Fermentation lasts around 25 days. Bolla Amarone is matured in barriques and large Slavonian oak barrels. Finally, it is bottled and sealed with natural corks.
