Brandies include well-known beverages such as gin Armagnac, cognac, brandy (brandy) and many more.
Cognac and Armagnac
Cognac is produced in the French city of the same name, for which special strictly defined criteria apply. Only when these are met may a spirit be called Cognac. More information on the production and classification of Cognac can be found in the category Cognac.
In France, proper names have always been important, and with the name Armagnac, a second one has been created. Armagnac comes from Gascony.
The name is used in many European brandy as a synonym for brandy. Only the designation "Brandy de Jerez" is protected, because as the name already says the Brandy comes from the Spanish city Jerez.
There are also practically no limits to the enjoyment of brandies, whether in a cognac snifter, even warmed by candlelight, or as a cocktail - everything is possible. Have fun trying out and browsing!
