Daftmill, one of Scotland's newest and smallest malt whisky distilleries, is located in Fife, north of Edinburgh. The name derives from the optical illusion that the local stream, the "Daft" Burn, appears to flow uphill, which led to the naming of the mill, "Daft Mill". The Cuthbert family has been growing malting barley at Daftmill Farm for six generations.
