The name of the Liberà wine is derived from a special gift that the city of Florence gave to a total of eight Florentine families. Among these families were the owners of Collazzi, who fought bravely for the city.
The grapes for the production are harvested from the Collazzi vineyard in Impruneta, Florence. Collazzi Libertà is made from the three grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The combination of grapes from 20-year-old vines in the nearby vineyards produces great, complex and elegant aromas. The harvest is done manually and the time between harvest and processing is extremely short, as the vineyards are only about 400 meters from the winery. Each variety of wine is harvested and vinified separately and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. After the wine has matured in both wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks, it is carefully bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
