The Salzl Syrah Reserve 2020 is a powerful and spicy-elegant red wine from Burgenland that combines the depth of this noble grape variety with regional terroir and masterful craftsmanship. The fully ripe Syrah grapes come from sites with sandy soils, which ensure good drainage and pronounced fruit ripeness. After harvesting, the grapes undergo traditional maceration in steel tanks at 30 °C, followed by a maceration period of 14 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation before the wine matures for 12 months in small oak barrels - 100% in new wood. This intensive ageing phase gives the wine its density, complexity and fine spiciness.
